Vehicles made after 2018 almost certainly have Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning. These systems rely on cameras mounted to the windshield. After glass replacement, those cameras must be recalibrated to factory spec or the safety systems won't work correctly.

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems — lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and more. After a windshield replacement, the camera that powers these systems must be recalibrated to factory specifications. Without calibration, the systems may not work correctly — or worse, give false readings.
If your vehicle was made after 2018, it almost certainly has ADAS. If it has lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, or automatic emergency braking, calibration is required after any windshield work. We check every vehicle at no charge and tell you whether calibration is needed.
Static calibration — done in-shop with targets — takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Dynamic calibration requires a drive cycle and takes about 60 to 90 minutes. If your vehicle requires both, plan for 3 to 4 hours total for the full replacement plus ADAS calibration.
Some policies may cover ADAS calibration when it is performed with a glass claim. Your policy and carrier determine coverage and deductible; it may be billed as a separate line item.
